The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police on Thursday morning recorded the statement of industrialist and Nepali Congress lawmaker Binod Chaudhary in connection with the Bansbari Leather and Shoe Factory land scam.

The agency recorded the statement at the District Attorney’s Office in the presence of government officials.

Talking to media persons while emerging from the attorney’s office, Chaudhary claimed that the government action against him was driven by political vendetta.

The industrialist remarked that the state is even playing politics with people like him, emphasising that it should be mindful of the message it sends to Nepali youths, entrepreneurs, employers, and taxpayers.
